Born in Yantai, Shandong, China in 1951. Dr. Chen began studying the Northern Tang Lang (mantis) Chuan as well as other martial arts from early childhood . A student of renowned Mater Chen Fa Kuo, dr. Chen Jing is an expert in Chen Tai Chi and weapons.

Dr. Chen has taught T'ai Chi and martial arts in china for more than 20 years. In June of 1993 he was awarded the Gold Medal as one of the top ten outstanding kung-fu practioners in the world. He is currently teaching Chen T'ai Chi locally and is considered one of the authentic teachers of this very special form. As one of the three major s of T'ai Chi Chuan, Chen T'ai Chi is rarely taught outside of china.

A painter and calligrapher, Dr. Chen's work has been shown in both China and America. He has presented lecture/demonstrations on the philosophy and technique involved in Chinese brush painting and calligraphy at various schools including: Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and Pitzer College in Claremont.
